Kindergarten Competencies

- Experiences Locomotor, non-locomotor, and manipulative skills - Experiences fundamental movement concepts - Explores concepts of spatial awareness - Experiences rhythm concepts - Plays cooperative games in a secure, non-competitive environment

1st grade Competencies

• Experiences activities involving basic Movement patterns
• Encounters hand-eye coordination by learning throwing, catching, striking, and rolling skills
• Plays cooperative large group games in a secure, non-competitive environment

2nd grade Competencies

• participates in a variety of exploratory movement skills using different kinds of equipment (i.e. jump ropes, balls, parachute)
• refines locomotor, non-locomotor, and manipulative skills through large and small group games and activities
• encouraged to use cooperation, good sportsmanship, and safety consciousness during physical activity
