The students sang America the Beautiful at our September Assembly, and they sounded great! Way to go! Our October’s Monthly Challenge is for all students to learn their Full Name, Birth Date, Phone Number and Address!

2. No School for students on Monday, October 13 -  Act 80 day for teachers.

5. EMC School Store - The first Wednesday of each month, we open our School Store, it is also EMC Spirit Day. Our next School Store is Wednesday, November 5. Most items cost $0.50 -$2.00. Please send money in an envelope with your child’s name on it and the amount enclosed. Parent volunteers will help students shop. All proceeds go toward EMC Field Trips.    
    
6. EMC Girls on The Run - The Girls on the Run team meets every Tuesday and Thursday after school until December 4. The 5K race is December 7. Please e-mail Mrs. Burke, dburke@soudertonsd.org,  with any questions.  
    
7. EMC Fire Prevention Week - October 6 -October 10. We will have a Fire Prevention Assembly on Wednesday, October 8.  
    
8. EMC Donuts with Dad - Friday, October 10 at 7:45-8:35AM in our Cafe. See the Donuts with Dad flyer.
    
9. Afterschool Bike Club - Wednesday, October 15 and October 22 from 3:40-4:40pm. This club is for Fourth and Fifth graders with a bike and a bike helmet. See the Bike Club flyer.
    
10. EMC Character Counts Week - Monday, October 20-Friday, October 24. Wear the colors of the day as the students spend time learning about the different character traits that will help them be respectful, responsible and safe members of the EMC community. See the general flyer and the resources flyer. 
     
11. EMC Game Club - 2^nd - 5^th graders are invited to stay after school two different days to participate in game club - where they will learn to play different card and board games. On Tuesday, Oct. 21 and Wednesday, Nov. 5, students can stay until 4:45 to play games with friends and classmates. Permission forms went home last week and are due by October 15. Contact your child's teacher if you need a new permission form.
     
12. Arrival/Dismissal - School Lane is a One-Way Street on school days from 7:45am-4pm. The sidewalk closest to the school is a Drop and Go Zone. Please keep traffic moving. Your child should exit the car onto the sidewalk. Please do not park in front of residents or school driveways. Drivers should remain in the car.     Important Dismissal Updates: 
    - Bus Riders -Students riding the bus will be dismissed first.  
    - Walkers and Car Riders-These students will be dismissed after all the buses have left campus at approximately 3:30PM.  
    - Early Dismissal- Students leaving before 3:30PM will be considered an early dismissal. If your child needs to be dismissed early, please provide advance notice to the office via e-mail or phone. Thank you for your cooperation in helping us keep dismissal safe and organized for all EMC staff and students.   
            
13. Attendance Reminder- To report an absence, late or early dismissal, please e-mail EMC’s attendance office at: Attendemc@soudertonsd.org. - If you call the school to report an absence, we will also need a written note or e-mail within 3 days. Please include the reason for the absence and a parent/guardian signature.
