4. EMC Girls on The Run - The Girls on the Run team will meet on Tuesday’s and Thursday’s from now until December 4. The 5K race is on December 7. Please email Mrs. Burke, dburke@soudertonsd.org,  with any questions or if you would like to join.   
    
5. EMC Character Counts Week - Monday, October 20- Friday, October 24. Wear the colors of the day as the students spend time learning about the different character traits that will help them be respectful, responsible, and safe members of the EMC community. See the Character Counts! Week flyer. 
    
6. National Bus Safety Week - Monday, October 20- Friday, October 24. This week our School District Police Officers will help support bus safety by following or riding the bus with the students; that is so cool! Please talk to your children about bus safety: sitting in your seat, keeping the noise level down, and keeping hands and feet to yourself. Also, talk to them about bus and traffic laws. EMC’s SPO, Officer Young will ride one of our buses, Bus 36, to school on Thursday, Oct. 23. Fun! 
    
7. Afterschool Card/Board Game Club - Open to 2nd-5th grade students. We will have two sessions, Tuesday, October 21 and Wednesday, November 5. The students will learn to play two or three games each week.  
    
8. Afterschool Bike Club - Wednesday, Oct. 22 at 3:30-4:40. Students participating, remember, bring your bike and bike helmet again this week! We will be practicing bike safety and participating in a Bike Rodeo. 
    
9. EMC Home and School Mtg - Wednesday, October 22 at the Cafe at 7pm. Free babysitting offered.  
    
10. EMC Picture Day - Picture Day is coming on Tuesday, October 28!   You can place your order on mylifetouch.com using your Picture Day ID: EVT3PGV9G.Order before midnight on Picture Day to get FREE shipping!  Your child can also bring their completed flyer with cash or check on Picture Day. Orders after Picture Day must be placed online only on mylifetouch.com Tuesday, October 28. See the Picture Day flyer.  
     
11. EMC’s Fall Parade and Social - Friday, Oct. 31, from 1:40-2:10pm. Parents are invited to watch our students as they parade through our bus loop, across the street, up School Lane and back to our school.   
     
12. EMC School Store - Wednesday, November 5, during our lunch period.  Our School Store is on the same day as School Spirit Day. Most items cost $0.50-$2.00. Please send money in an envelope with your child’s name and the amount in the envelope. Parent volunteers will help students shop. All proceeds go toward EMC Field Trips.     
     
13. Important Dismissal Updates  
    *Bus Riders - Students riding the bus will be dismissed first.   
    *Walkers and Car Riders - These students will be dismissed after all the buses leave campus at approximately 3:30.   
    *Early Dismissal: Students leaving before 3:30 will be considered an early dismissal. If your child needs to be dismissed early, please provide advance notice to the office via email or phone. Thank you for your cooperation in helping us keep dismissal safe and organized for all EMC staff and students.          
     
14. Attendance Reminder - To report an absence, late or early dismissal, please email EMC’s attendance office at: Attendemc@soudertonsd.org. - If you call the school to report an absence, we will also need a written note or email within 3 days. Please include the reason for the absence and a parent/guardian signature.
